When it comes to the time that I have to draw a character in the mood, one of the most important to me is to think about the pose. It more like I become a real photographer in the studio and ready to shoot the model. The pose I want to see in the camera is the exact same thing that I want to see on my drawing. Image like this can’t say a word either dialogs, so the more I can set the pose on my character is the more I can tell the story to audience. Most of my illustrator friends will start the process by hiring professional models to pose for them as the reference, or they just take their on pose in the mirror like traditional animators. We are living in the technology world these days, internet is the best source for any kinds. Especially in this case I always find my inspiration photos on internet most of the time. However, I am not drawing a realistic photo so those pictures I found will become just the references for me to study the way girl sits and makes her face for the example and the rest is up to my imagination.
